April Newsletter
Hello all! I hope that April finds you excited for spring and all the blooming flowers and trees. Allergies aside, I'm so happy for this warmer weather cause it means I get to spend time digging in my garden.
A few exciting things to let you know about here at the top of this 4th month of 2016. First off, many of you may have read or heard about the restorative benefits of knitting and crochet. Personally, I discovered my love of the fiber arts during an incredibly difficult and dark time in my life. Knitting and crochet were some of the only ways that I was able to get through this anxiety ridden period and I'm so grateful to have fallen in love with fiber arts when I did. April is National Stress Awareness Month, and to celebrate the beneficial effects that knitting has on stress, we're going to #stitchawaystress with a Spring Knit-Along! I put all the details in my previous blog post, so check it out! Join in on our Ravelry group, Nutmeg Knit-Alongs, so that you can knit away that stress with us from wherever your cozy corner of the world is. If you're in Nashville, we'll be getting together every Saturday in April (beginning on the 9th) to work on our projects together. For all the details, check out the blog post here.
Also, earlybird registration for the East Side Fiber Festival will begin on April 9th! The festival will be on September 17th this year, and you'll find all the details on the East Side Fiber Festival website.
Make sure to mark your calendars for May 14th-16th here at Nutmeg. We have a special event that we'll be telling you all about shortly once the details are all in place. You're definitely gonna want to be here, so keep an eye out for all the info on this!
Lastly, make sure to come in for our trunk show with Reunion Yarn on May 28th. It'll be going all day at the shop that day, and you'll be able to see some amazing, upcycled yarn that is beautifully and mindfully made. Visit their website to see more about who they are and what they do.
Well, that's all for now! I hope that I run into you this weekend at Stitches South. Don't forget to visit the Fringe Supply Co. & Camellia Fiber Co. booths (505/507) where Nutmeg Fibers will be for sale!
