Welcome to the new year! I'm a few days late on posting this, what with all the craziness of the holiday times. I have so much news about what's going on at Nutmeg right now, though, so I'm just going to dive right in!
First off, I want to introduce you all to Becky Sekeres, Nutmeg's new Workshop Coordinator! I am absolutely THRILLED that she wanted to join the Nutmeg Team and come on this grand adventure with me. Not only is she an amazing seamstress, maker and mother, but she's also an kickass person that I'm so glad you'll all get to meet through the Nutmeg Workshops Program! She's already begun to organize our classes for the first quarter. To see what we have lined up so far, visit our workshops page.
And speaking of workshops, I want to remind you all that we have an amazing guest teacher, Ongeleigh Underwood, coming into town on January 24th to teach you all how to dye yarn with natural dyes! This class has very limited space, so make sure to register soon if you've been curious about learning more about the dyeing process. There's never a better time than January to learn something new!
Another exciting thing about January, is that it's the time of year for our 2nd Annual Fabric Sale!!! From no until January 31st, all fabric off the bolt is on sale! When you come into the store, you'll receive anywhere from 10% to 30% off of your fabric purchase. It's based on luck of the draw, so be sure to come in this month and get some yardage for your 2016 projects! New bolts are arriving all the time (in fact 7 just arrived from Japan today!), so stop by several times and get a discount each time!
Last, but absolutely not least, is a big and exciting announcement about a new part of Nutmeg's growth for 2016: The Nutmeg Podcast!!!! Our first episode will be debuting on January 15th. I'm calling this "The Podcast You Never Knew You Wanted." It'll be chats about creativity, creative living and other such things, as well as general discussion about life, love and laughter. My first guests are Fleming McWilliams and Laura Donohue of Girls Up Loud, and I can't wait to get into the "studio" (aka my kitchen) to chat with them over morning coffee. Keep in touch for the full listing of guests for Season 1, as well as more details on how to listen.
Well, that's all for now!
